Grover Essentials - Handy Tips for Shopping Wholesale Luxury Sheets

by Princy Kumar on December 01, 2020

If you’re a hotel owner, you’ll know that purchasing the right linens can make all the difference between what guests consider luxurious and unpleasant. When shopping for wholesale bedding, the type of luxury linen you purchase will truly be up to your preferences and hotel aesthetic. Whatever the case, consider the following factors when fitting your rooms and suites with the right type of sheets.

  • Size and Fit
  • Whether fitted or flat sheets that are too large or too small will probably be something for guests to complain about. When shopping for sheets that perfectly complement your mattress size, skip relying on standard sizes, and take accurate measurements of the length, width, and depth of your mattress.

  • Material Quality
  • When differentiating between the different types of bedding, keep in mind that luxury sheets are usually manufactured using two materials: high-end cotton and microfiber. Though microfiber sheets are usually produced using polyester, cotton comes in a greater variety of types—from Egyptian, Pima, to Standard. The best type of bedding is a combination of both cotton and microfiber.

Cotton blend sheets with a thread count of 650 per square inch make for a luxurious choice and are made with 70% cotton and 30% polyester. These sheets are also wrinkle-free.

On the other hand, if you’re considering sheets made with 100% cotton, long-staple cotton sateen sheets make for a comfortable, breathable, and durable set of sheets perfect for any hotel bed. Not to mention, this material grows softer and smoother with every wash.

  • Type of Weave
  • Luxury sheets will employ a specific type of weave that makes for soft and resilient cloth. The common types of weaves include percale, sateen, and combed cotton. Though an extremely soft weave, sateen, which mimics the texture of satin, tends to tear easily. Percale, on the other hand, is just as soft but far more durable. It’s also lightweight and breathable, making it perfect for warmer sleepers.

  • Thread Count
  • Despite higher thread counts making for a historically successful selling point, this isn’t always the most important factor to consider when selecting bedding fabric types. Sheets with a thread count within the range of 100 to 200 can be perfectly luxurious if processed with a cotton and microfiber blend and weaved using a percale pattern. If you can’t afford a more lavish material, opting for a 400 to 600 thread count is often most ideal.

  • Sheet Finish
  • Before being shipped out, most sheets are treated using chlorine or silicone to affect sheen, prevent shrinking, and reduce wrinkles. While effective, this can aggravate those who suffer from allergies or sensitive skin. To cater to all types of hotel guests, consider sheets that are made with all-natural materials.

When checking in for a staycation at a luxury hotel, high-quality fabrics can dictate how much of a good night’s sleep guests can enjoy. When it comes to shopping for bedding, don’t ruin an excellent recipe with cheap ingredients.
